One of the fascinating things I've learned this day was that their Martial Arts' classes will be handled by a Christian group named King's Sword Martial Arts! This is the first time that I've heard about a Christian group doing Martial Arts! It's truly wonderful since my son is enrolled in their Karate class!

Thank you, Metro Lifestyle GenSan! With your great program and "all-in package" for your members, you've made exercise truly exciting and fun! Oh, wait! I forgot to take pictures of your Sauna and Jacuzzi! But with all these perks, I truly believe you've pampered your members to the max! May the Lord bless all of your endeavors and bless all of your members too!

Hitting the gym seems to be the craze recently here at GenSan. And to prove this, there's yet another gym that's under construction and will soon open. Will this be just "another" gym in the city or will this facility proves to be different and worth joining?

"General Santos City used to be a grass-land", a friend reminiscing the past as we went along the Pan Philippine Highway. Indeed, as bombings had ceased and peace began in GenSan, infrastructures started rising. Along with this came the well-known malls of Metro Manila. And not far behind them are the growing concern for healthy living...thus the gyms are established one after the other.

General Santos is not lacking in good gym facilities, but there are only a few able and qualified trainers, and not to mention, their services are quite expensive too. So when you hit the gym, it's either you already know what you're doing or you'll end up getting frustrated. And this is where Metro Lifestyle GenSan differs from the rest.

The first time I've heard about this, it was way back in March or April 2014. There was such a big buzz about this gym and I was thinking "Why?" Even my husband who is not a gym fanatic would start talking about it during meal time. And when construction started, he would drive by and show me where it is located. For a provincial gym, Metro Lifestyle GenSan is quite pricey, so I really have to dig deep before I will jump in and here's what I found out.

Metro Lifestyle is the only gym in GenSan that offers an "all-in" package for its members. This means that as a member you can hit the gym, use the indoor jogging path and the dance floor for zumba, belly dancing, do boxing and all other facilities the gym has to offer.

Metro Lifestyle is the only gym that has a jacuzzi and dry sauna! For someone who dreams to lose at least 10kgs (like I do!), you are given free access to lose those unwanted fats faster!

Metro Lifestyle is the only gym that has at least 8 trainers who will be there to discuss with you your goals and make sure that you will reach it.


Metro Lifestyle is the only gym that has a state-of-the-art and newest equipment.

Metro Lifestyle is the only gym that offers TRX and Vipr programs.

Metro Lifestyle is the only gym that has an indoor jogging path.

If these "only's" are not yet enough, how about the fact that Metro Lifestyle Davao and GenSan are the only Mindanao's home-grown gym facilities that can compete with Gold's Gym and Fitness First of Metro Manila!

Have I given too much accolade to this gym that is still under construction? I hope not, for that is not my purpose. The reason why I have given such a marvelous description of this gym is because that's what I have seen and witnessed. And at the same time, it will be under great scrutiny now that people's curiosity and expectations have been kindled and sparked. Come and see if Metro Lifestyle GenSan is indeed a gym that's cut above the rest.

Life as It Is...

There are times when feeling of boredom and dissatisfaction comes to one's mind...how do you deal with that?

One of the greatest struggle of a housewife is the feeling of boredom and the sense of uselessness. As one goes through the mundane of daily chores, and taking care of the family, a housewife tends to loose her connection to the world of technology, business and to the world itself. She only gets to connect through the television or the gossips that goes around her. But she does not have the opportunity to "feel" life anymore.

With what had mentioned above, a housewife tends to take her value for granted. And once she does this, the family members will start doing it as well. The family will think that "ah, she will always be there" and the words "thank you" & "I love you" flies out the door.

 Have I felt this way? Oh Yes! But by God's mercies, my family has not reached the point yet where they have taken me for granted. Once in a while, the Lord will show them my worth and they give importance to whatever I do for them.

One of the greatest key in battling boredom is not television nor radio nor gossips. It's the Word of God. Whenever these feelings attacks me, I would pick up my Bible and reflect on God's grace. Do I have a specific passage or book that I turn to? No, I don't. I find solace in the whole Counsel of God. Wherever I turn, whatever book I read, whichever Testament it might be, I always find my place in God. That's the beauty of being a housewife...you'll find your true value not in money that you earn, nor in the praises and rewards of man, but in God!

Life on Earth, Fleeting, Yet Uncertain

We know our lives here on Earth are short...but can we say it's sweet? We were born without our consent...but we were born anyway. We grew up knowing that we need education to work, we need to work to earn, we need to earn so that we can learn..and the cycle goes on and on and on. But why? Why are we here on Earth in the first place? If we work so that we can live, and live so that we can work...what kind of life will we be living?

Working and living are part of the task that we have to fulfill. However, if these two takes control of our motive in living, then we'll never fully understand the purpose of being created.

Matt 6:19 says: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal."

Is it wrong to have the latest gadgets? Is it wrong to dream of a big house with a pool? Is it wrong put my children thru college? Is it wrong to have lots of money so that i can help my parents?

The answer if no...but....having the latest gadgets?..when will u have the latest? After buying that, it's old news for the companies who made them 'coz they've just finished building THE 'latest'! Having a big house with a pool..not bad...and yet will u feel safe living in it? Calamities and tragedies will happen...the bigger your house is, the bigger the insurance...the bigger the insurance, the harder you'll have to work...will you be able to enjoy it when you spend most of your time in your office?

Having money is needed in our time..esp with inflation and economical disturbances and all. However, pouring your life, time, and energy into it will not be beneficial.

While you're alive you get security in knowing that you'll have money to buy groceries and stuffs, but what about when you die? Will you be able to buy your entrance to heaven?

That's why Jesus says "20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
and He continues: 24"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

We can only be slaves of one, we can never be slaves of both. If you love money, then you will surely despise God. But if you love God, then with or without money, you'll be content. If you love money, you'll think of all the things that you can have. If you love God, you'll look at the things you have and be grateful. Money is our legal tender...without it, we won't survive. I'm not suggesting that you leave your work and just die. But its more on if you're investing on your future, you have to start investing for your next life also. We don't know when we'll leave this earth, but the surest thing is, all of us will.

When the time comes will Jesus say "throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."(Matt 22) or will He say "Well done, good and faithful servant! Come and share your master's happiness!" (Matt 25)
